NY’s, living walls
As hurricane Sandy gave her final wins, I arrived in New York with planes full of runners (ignorant of the cancellation) for the marathon of marathons. Ravage all around. Numerous firefighters and policemen battled the inferno, the flooded cellars, the snapped trees, the swishing electricity wires, the enormous damage to the subway and more. In the evening it was completely dark. What a resilience! On Sunday there was already a ‘Global / Holland Run’ in Central Park. New York has more and more parks that appeal to the imagination. Less in sight are the many green roofs, roof gardens and living walls. A wonderful development, green lungs.
