The most beautiful ballet story: Swanlake. Siegfried, a young prince with the soul of a poet, meets a white swan, Odette, by a lake at night, and promises to remain faithful to her —and with it his ideals. Back in his palace, Siegfried lets himself be seduced by the wizard’s daughter Odile, who has disguised herself as a black swan. Too late, Siegfried realizes his mistake. After a moving reunion with Odette, he dies by drowning. Symbolized here by the remains of my beloved old floppy doll: Mina.
