The most beautiful ballet story: Swanlake. Siegfried, a young prince with the soul of a poet, meets a white swan, Odette, by a lake at night, and promises to remain faithful to her —and with it his ideals. Back in his palace, Siegfried lets himself be seduced by the wizard's daughter Odile, who has disguised herself as a black swan. Too late, Siegfried realizes his mistake. Underwater spring It is almost impossible to imagine, but beneath the surface of the water lies an enormous wealth of animals and aquatic plants. An enormous diversity of life can be discovered especially under water. A world full of form, contrast, color and compositions. Square, Rhythm and form III
Prince Siegfried has to choose a bride from all the girls present at his birthday party, but all he wants is to marry for love. To clear his mind, he goes hunting in the forest, where he sees a group of swans. The moment he wants to shoot, the swan turns into a beautiful woman dressed in a white dress made of swan feathers. She tells him that her name is Princess Odette and, like the other swans, she has been enchanted by the wizard Von Rothbart. Siegfried falls in love with Odette and promises to marry her. That's the only way to break von Rothbart's spell. "Come to the ball in the palace tomorrow, and I will choose you as my bride. The other women don't interest me. I only want you! When we get married, the spell is broken and we can be happy together.” Siegfried swears never to break this promise. What's next? NY's, living walls As hurricane Sandy gave her final wins, I arrived in New York with planes full of runners (ignorant of the cancellation) for the marathon of marathons. Ravage all around. Numerous firefighters and policemen battled the inferno, the flooded cellars, the snapped trees, the swishing electricity wires, the enormous damage to the subway and more. In the evening it was completely dark. What a resilience! On Sunday there was already a 'Global / Holland Run' in Central Park. New York has more and more parks that appeal to the imagination. Natura Artis Magister: a cry for help?! Nature is an artist's teacher. In response, they pay tribute to the beauty of the landscape. The Dutch polder landscape, strictly speaking not nature, is also picturesque. My backyard - the Strabrechtse heide with its flock of sheep and a single grazing buffalo - is an oasis of peace. Especially early in the morning, when the sun shines through the leaves and casts its light on the water of the fens. There they walk chattering: "Isn't it wonderful, sheep?" "Certainly, I think so too. So wonderful that it still possible." The fact that man is inextricably linked to nature is made clear by the increasingly visible climate change. Humanity has what it takes to create and sustain as well as destroy. One day nature may take over our artificial world again. Nature is an artist’s teacher. In response, they pay tribute to the beauty of the landscape. The Dutch polder landscape, strictly speaking not nature, is also picturesque. My backyard – the Strabrechtse heide with its flock of sheep and a single grazing buffalo – is an oasis of peace. Especially early in the morning, when the sun shines through the leaves and casts its light on the water of the fens. There they walk chattering: “Isn’t it wonderful, sheep?” “Certainly, I think so too. So wonderful that it still possible.” The fact that man is inextricably linked to nature is made clear by the increasingly visible climate change. Humanity has what it takes to create and sustain as well as destroy. One day nature may take over our artificial world again. We live in an important time, in which we determine the direction of the future. It is now up to us to make the choice. 70 cm h x 70 cm b x 2 cm d, oilpaint, on canvas, signed. (To be framed)
